The Aqua Pearls was formed in February 2008 by Carol Scott and since then has continued to expand and now operates 6 days a week. The team consists of a owner/manager, seven instructors and three lifeguards. All instructors are of the highest calibre with a true passion to deliver their best tuition every lesson. They are dedicated, hard working and talented.
Over the years, The Aqua Pearls has developed into more than a top class swim school. Due to the trust and support from the parents the school has flourished in to a friendly community where the children not only excel and enjoy their lessons, but the parents have made and continue to enjoy, lasting friendships.
We take a long term interest in the pupil's mental and physical development. Many of our swimmers choose to enter into club swimming and find due to their technique and ability they are selected for the Isle of Man top squad team. The Aqua Pearls high reputation has been established from past and present parents who continuously recommend us.
Children can start in our junior programme once they start school. Due to the popularity and demand we recommend that parents put their child's name on the waiting list from the age of 3. There are also waiting lists for our Baby, Toddler, Little Pearl & Pre-School lessons so please do get in touch in advance of requiring lessons.
Certificates & Awards
The programme follows the Swim England Learn to Swim stages 1 - 7 continuing through to the more advanced STA awards of Bronze, Silver & Gold. We also cover Rainbow Distance Awards and Water Safety Skill Awards. For our younger swimmers, we use the STA Starfish an Stanley awards. Certificates and badges are presented twice yearly.
Policies & Procedures
The swimming prospectus is available on poolside for parents to read. It covers all the requirements and guidelines relating to the Swim England Learn to Swim programme as well as the STA Starfish, Stanley & Advanced Bronze, Silver & Gold awards. It also contains the normal operating procedures, the emergency action plan and a risk assessment including the rules and regulations that parents and children must adhere to. We request every parent takes time to read it on a regular basis. Although the team encourages every child to experience an enjoyable lesson, the emphasis always remains on safety first.
